Even though they came into conception at about the same time and shoes (1982, the Bay Area) as the speed alloy course, San Francisco originals Brocas Helm shared out completely a few thrash-like tendencies with neighbors Exodus, Metallica, et al. Instead, care similarly unnoted contemporaries such as Manilla Road and Warlord, Brocas Helm members Bobbie Wright (guitars/vocals), Jim Schumacher (bass voice) and Jack Hays (drums) blazed a less popular chase closer to traditional metal powers like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and, of class, Black Sabbath, earlier them. This purist's philosophy cursorily translated into a contract with Germany's Steamhammer mark, which released Brocas Helm's medieval-minded debut album, Into Battle, in 1984, simply to little critical spat. Fact is, stripe and label were separated by also slap-up a space to make for together in effect, and the demos that would suit Brocas Helm's, instant album, Black Death, would languish unreleased for nearly four-spot years before at long last coming to light in 1989 -- and and then via the band's possess Gargoyle imprint. By and then, the mathematical group (now augmented by second guitar actor Tom "T-Bone" Behney) had get a rightfully underpass enterprise, and would progeny aught but demos (1994's "Ghost Story," 1997's "Clock time of the Dark") until giving up their struggle at last in the late รข€˜90's. Brocas Helm's retirement was ephemeral, however, and when Greek promoters invited them to term of enlistment that metal-mad province, they eagerly reformed and issued a individual entitled "Blood machine" to coincide with their live dates. Perhaps regular more surprisingly, 2004 eventually saw the release of a third Brocas Helm L.P. entitled Defender of the Crown.
